Wort des Tages: Lichtschimmer

For the first time in weeks, the sun cometh over Munich! 

A German delivery company contacted me last night with information about my missing luggage!

And my ticket to the Frank Ocean concert came in the mail!!!!!

In other words, everything has come together.  Or, at least, everything is coming together.  I guess I shouldn't jinx it.  Still, I'm looking forward to wearing proper shoes instead of the ridiculous boots I wore over on the plane. 

All of this brings us to our Wort des Tages:

Der Lichtschimmer:  (n.) a gleam of light.  Professor Berlin (that's actually her name) explained it to us this morning in more metaphorical terms; Lichtschimmer is also a word for hope, ie the light at the end of the tunnel or some kind of silver lining. 

I find the word appropriate to the return of the sun and the second coming of my clothes.  And SOCKS.  Goodness.  I could not be more excited right now.
