Cold Summer, Warm Winter

The last few days of weather here in Munich gave us no inclination that our summer would be anything other than miserable.  Rain fell consistently as the last of us trickled into our housing block.  Clouds greeted our open windows in the morning and they said 'Schlaf gut' to us at night as the lights went down.

Today, at long last, the sun came back out.  I ran outside with my camera to take a shot of the sunset (a nap had burned away most of my afternoon and all the pretty light therein) but found as I turned on the machine that its memory card slot was empty.  I had left the card in my computer.

The group walked last night from the student house to the Palace Nymphenburg by way of the local fitness studio.  The place was nearly empty, probably because of the weather.  Tandem cold and rain do not encourage crowds.

Finally, I want to show you the most ambient lightbulb in Germany.  Here I keep my temporary nest.  I wake up often because of the travel dreams (read: jet-lag induced semi-nightmares) and I turn the light on and read for a while before sleeping again.  I think that the bulb somehow has the ideal intensity.  My pillow is also huge.  There's too much of it.  I'm still figuring out to do with that much fluff.
